A simple way to estimate is to think by “room.” A 5×10 usually fits one room’s worth of belongings, while a 10×20 or 10×25 can hold several rooms or a full household. When in doubt, give us a call—our team helps customers choose the right size every day.
For safety reasons, we do not allow food, live animals, plants, flammables, propane tanks, car batteries, ammunition, drugs, explosives, or hazardous chemicals. When in doubt, ask our staff—we’re here to help you store responsibly.
Yes. All Look Self Storage facilities offer climate-controlled storage, which helps protect items like furniture, electronics, photos, and documents from extreme temperatures and moisture.
Indoor units are located inside a climate-controlled building, ideal for sensitive items. Outdoor or “drive-up” units allow you to park right at the door for easy loading and unloading.
Yes. Our Lansing and South Lyon locations offer outdoor parking for vehicles, RVs, and boats. Highland location offers indoor vehicle storage inside a traditional unit.

After your rental is completed, you can create an online account on our website to make payments, update your info, or change your card on file.
We’ll send you text and email alerts. After five days of non-payment, gate access will be temporarily restricted.
All locations feature 24/7 video surveillance, secure gated access, bright nighttime lighting, and personalized entry codes for tenants.
Yes. Every Look Self Storage location is fully gated with monitored video systems.
Yes, as long as it is not a cylinder lock. We strongly recommend disc locks, which are available for purchase on-site.

If you lose your unit key, we offer lock removal during office hours. For forgotten gate codes, please visit the office with valid ID.
Yes, all properties are equipped with bright lighting to help you feel safe during early morning or evening visits.
Standard access hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., 365 days a year.
Tuesday–Friday: 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Place heavier items and sturdy boxes on the bottom, then stack lighter items on top. Plastic totes offer better protection than cardboard boxes.
Climate-controlled units are best. Wrap furniture in covers and protect electronics with plastic or bubble wrap to keep out dust and moisture.
Use sealed totes, avoid storing food, wrap mattresses and furniture, and keep items off the floor. We also maintain routine pest control for added peace of mind.
